What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic - (ki"ro-prak"tik) [Gr. chier hand] + [Gr.
prassein to do] "Chiropractic is a philosophy, science, and art
of things natural; a system of adjusting the segments of the
spinal column by hand only, for the correction of the cause of
dis-ease."
What is subluxation?
Subluxation (sub''luk-sa'shun) - Any vertebrae which has lost
its proper juxta-position with the bone above, below, or both,
which impinges on a nerve and interferes with mental impulses.
That is, a spinal misalignment or malfunction that doesn't allow
your body's communication system to work properly.
Chiropractors do not treat diseases. We simply detect and
correct subluxations. Subluxations cause dis-ease. Removing
subluxations will allow the body to work better.
CHIROPRACTIC PHILOSOPHY
Chiropractic is based on the understanding that our bodies
are in a continuous state of healing. Healing takes place in all
living people. This healing is directed by the central nervous
system (brain and spinal cord). This is the focus of the
Chiropractor; to make sure the communication is open from the
brain to the body and from the body back to the brain. We detect
subluxations in the spine which can hinder these communications.
